I think the first one is a Balmain Bug .. pretty good eating if I remember. The 8th picture is a sun fish .. lives in deep water but comes to the surface to warm up.
So the last picture and the second to last picture are not only the same..but are fake pictures..they are computer generated..and were on a discovery channel show about what prehistoric deep sea creatures may have looked like.
The last (and third to last) pics are from a really good dinosaur documentary. I don’t think you have to worry about stepping on one of those in the tidewater. The guy pictured is Nigel somethingorother, but the doc is a “fantasy safari” of his, excellent CG, camera work, and models in it.
I think the guy in 6 is doing a “Look I have this huge fish-shaped penis” thing, but instead just looks like he’s doing something inappropriate with a dead fish.
#1 giant isopod, basically a giant oceangoing rollypolly
#2 mekong delta catfish
#3 some deep sea fish, maybe a lumpfish or angler
#4 frilled shark, a very primitive and rare shark
#5 looks like a normal sea anemone
#6 probably another mekong catfish
#7 definately mekong catfish
#8 ocean sunfish
#9 a photoshop of a real giant jellyfish
#10 a fathead
#11 lizard fish
#12 looks like a lump fish
#13 deep sea angler
#14 fake, supposed to be a eurypterid, obviously a model though, havent existed for nearly 100 million years
#15 looks fake too, the fish are 2 different species but im not really sure which species they are.
oh and most of the fish on this list are either rare or live way way deep down, aside from the mekong delta catfish but that isnt common in america. if they arent rare they live well below where you will ever be diving.
The first picture looks like a horseshoe crab, but doesn’t have the tail horseshoe crabs usually have. I guess it could also be some mad scientists attempt at a kabuto.
Two things: The last picture is repeated and is from a documentry film - the crustation he’ss holding is called a ’sea scorpion’ and is very, very, very extinct.
Also, many of these are crustations and jellyfish, neither of which are ‘fish’.
#5 is the rare penisfish of the gulf of mexico and it looks like he might have caught something from one of the other specimens or the guy who’s fucking fish #6
i just wanted to say that the #15 fish, the one that looks like 2 fish stuck together by the head, well they are infact 2 PIKE or really one. its a species of fish accociated with the northwest usa, and dont say they are fake because even fish too can become conjoined at birth, CRAZY i wonder where it was caught and what the guy thought when he pulled it up to the surface….
i woulda been freaked
I love #8; I saw a couple of Mola Mola (that’s what they’re called) at the Monterrey Bay Aquarium and they are so very strange, and wonderfully immense.
HEY YOUF FUCKINF FAUCKFACES THIS ISNT EVNE FISHES YOU ARE A FUCKING LIAR YOU GOD DAMNED FUCKING PRICK YOUR BLOG SUCKS THE BIGGEST FUCKS YOU FUCKING SUCK SHITTY BLOG YOU GOD DAMNED LIYING CUNT SUCKING LIAR FAGG!!!!!!
I BET UR GAY!!!!!!! UR A GAY BLOG LIAR THEY ARENT EVEN FISH U R GAY!!!!!
There’s WAAAY weirder. Check out the evermanella, the Lizardfish (also known as the Bathysaurus), the Loosejaw (or Malacosteus), the Snaggletooth (astronesthes), The Gulper Eel, the blob fish (I think it’s actually called Mr. Blobby by the person that ID’d it) Or my favorite, the Viperfish (One SCAARY mofo). While you’re at it, try the Batfish (walks on the bottom w/ it’s flippers). -=OR=- For Invertibrates, check out the Stomiiformes, Dumbo Octopus…. or the Teuthowenia.
Oh, and BTW (someone), your list is wrong. I’m not gonna pick it apart TOO badly, but #13 is a Fangtooth, and a blobfish and a fathead fish are the same thing, unless, that is, you’re talking about the fathead sculpin. Of which, #10 is not.
Quietfire- I don’t know if the diver was photoshopped INTO the picture of the Jellyfish but the picture you linked to definitely had the diver photoshopped OUT of the picture. Photoshopped
I am scared of everyone on this list who did not comment on pic 6!!! Doesn’t that pic strike you as a little bit strange? Who takes over their trousers to hug an 8 foot long cold fish. I hope this guy is not free to roam around.
Will people stop commenting on the #6 picture?
I understand it looks weird, but the man is not f***ing the fish.
It’s not possible to f*** a fish from behind.
So get over it and grow up.
The guy with white shirt with a giant crab like creature is a “sort of” fake pic. This is from show walking with sea monsters and its an extinct sea scorpian.
#5 is a sea anemone, which is definatly not a fish. The part that looks like a penis is its detached foot all curled up as its probably floating in the current looking for a new rock to settle on.
One good reason why I stopped swimming in the sea. Who knows what else is out there lurking a few metres away from you while you’re helpless in the big wide ocean?? Like all Alien movies, I’m going to re-quote it by saying “Under the sea, no one can hear you scream”.
#1 giant isopod, basically a giant oceangoing rollypolly

#14 fake, supposed to be a eurypterid, obviously a model though, havent existed for nearly 100 million years….(.no, this is a currently living creature, who’s name escapes me at the moment…)
#15 looks fake too, the fish are 2 different species but im not really sure which species they are.
also, do you always see a “mekong delta catfish” everywhere ???

December 19th, 2007 at 1:56 am

Yeah, a lot of those are benthic or deep-sea fish. Some of them rarely come to the surface of the water and when or if they do, they’re usually dead.
February 22nd, 2009 at 3:43 pm
#4 #5 looks like penis
